Columbia University Press Author Events for December

If you are looking for stimulating, lively and low-cost / free events this Holiday season, look no further than the various December events with Columbia University Press authors.

Events include Sarah Burd-Sharps and Kristen Lewis discussing their book, The Measure of America: American Human Development Report, 2008-2009 at the Carnegie Council on Thursday, December 4; Annie Hauck and Jonathan Deutsch on their book Gastropolis: Food and New York City at the Astor Center (price of admission includes wine, cheese, and other snacks and food); and contributors to The Best American Magazine Writing 2008 reading from their work at what has become an annual tradition at the Half-King.

Other authors to look out for include Jeffrey Perry, who will be discussing his monumental biography of Hubert Harrison in various locations in the New York City metropolitan area, and Ann Armbrecht who will be discussing her memoir/anthropological work Thin Places: A Pilgrimage Home in bookstores in New England.
