Welcome to week two of CUP’s quasquicentennial celebration. Today we’re treating you to an inside look at title management–well at least how it worked in the past. Who remembers what a card catalog was?

Before modern technology, we used a system of card catalogs and filing cabinets to organize information about and for our titles. Here’s a glimpse at what an average day at the press looked like before the advent of the digital database. Imagine having to climb a step stool in pumps instead of clicking on keys to pull up information. Ladies, step your kitten heel game up!
