A Little Gay History provides close readings of 40 objects from the British Museum’s vast collection, from ancient Egyptian papyri to vivid prints by the modern artist David Hockney, to draw attention to a diverse range of same-sex experiences from around the world and throughout human history.
The book itself is arranged chronologically and covers some 11,000 years of human history. Author R. B. Parkinson described the process of selction and assembleing in a blog post when A Little Gay History was originally published in 2013 and in the introduction to the book.
